root access

It is possible to go from 4->6.0,
5->6.0, 6->7.0, 5->7.0.

You CANNOT do:

5.1(3)->6.0
6.1(3)->7.0

This is because 5.1(3) was released after 6.0 and 6.1(3) was released
after 7.0 so they each had newer database information which would be
lost if those upgrades were allowed. Not sure how this relates to the
original post.

Since cisco UCM is only compatible with VMWare and not Virtual Box, the following commands need to be run from the commandline to make virtualbox look like vmware:
VBoxManage setextradata "" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVersion" "6 "
VBoxManage setextradata "" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemVendor" "VMware"
VBoxManage setextradata "" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVendor" "Phoenix Technologies LTD"
VBoxManage setextradata "" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemProduct"

CUCM in VirtualBOX
Steps:
1 - Create a VM with: Linux Redhat 4 1024MB RAM 80GB disk space
2 - Save and find the "name of VM".XML on the VM´s folder
3 - Add the following lines to it in the "<ExtraData> </ExtraData>" section:

<ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVersion" value="6 "/> <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemVendor" value="VMware"/> <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVendor" value="Phoenix Technologies LTD"/> <ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemProduct" value="VMware Virtual Platform"/>
4 - Done

Once you have shell access, you could type the following to possibly find the license files….if they are held in the file system.
[server1]#find / | grep “\.lic”
